This week, two local San Diego High School students visited our lab to get some hands-on experience with research. The girls, both seniors, are interested in pursuing careers in Biological Sciences and wanted to talk to us about our work and educational path. As part of their visit, the girls observed an actual experiment that was testing how glaucoma affects the optical nerve of the eye. We hope that having opportunities like this is invaluable as it gives students a clear idea of the work environment of a lab setting.
